This project takes place in the private residence of a Chinese homeowner, encompassing both the main living quarters and a subterranean wine cellar. SAYUNIXA took full charge of the lighting design, the production of all decorative lighting fixtures, and the fabrication of stainless steel furnishings—creating a highly personalized space where utility meets a deeper emotional resonance.
The lighting scheme centers around rhythm and breath—allowing the space to transition seamlessly between different moods and timeframes. Custom glass luminaires and reflective stainless steel structures are paired with K9 crystal elements. These components respond to subtle shifts in color temperature and layering, redefining the space in terms of both volume and emotion.
In the residential zones, the lighting is designed to evoke warmth, comfort, and a sense of secure intimacy. Concealed linear lights stretch along ceilings, stair edges, and architectural lines—emitting a gentle radiance akin to filtered daylight. Meanwhile, handcrafted crystal fixtures act as focal points, suspended like drifting clouds between ceiling and wall, generating a rhythmic visual poetry.
In the wine cellar, light becomes the language through which space expresses emotion. Custom under-cabinet strips and adjustable spotlights highlight wine racks and textured surfaces, crafting a theatrical and immersive setting. Over the tasting area, bespoke K9 crystal chandeliers—shaped after the refractions of swirling wine—float in harmonious contrast with the stainless steel furnishings, creating a sanctuary of refinement and ritual.
To ensure that design and execution were perfectly aligned, we employed 3D modeling and lighting simulations throughout the project. Every installation point was fine-tuned to optimize brightness, beam angles, and color temperature. Beyond functionality, this was a dialogue between light and material—where artistry becomes an everyday experience within the act of living.
